Raindrops On Roses And...

...Whiskers on kittens! Maria Von Trapp and I have these favorite things in common. And today sunny San Diego isn't looking so sunny. Instead we are having a beautifully gloomy, rainy day. Some people can't stand a little rain, I however, love it. The way rain sounds as it hits the windows or roof of my house, the way it smells so fresh and rejuvenating, the breezy wind that comes along with it and most importantly how it gives us a good excuse to stay inside under warm blankets and cuddle with hot tea. It's such a nice change from our regular (perfect) weather. I know that probably sounds a little odd...probably because I'm a little odd. Haha!

When I left this morning to run some errands I had to stop and take a picture of the garden in my front yard because it looked so green and luscious...
I can't take any credit for it's appearance though, my dad is the gardening master in our family.

I also love how rain looks on car windows, is that weird?

So for the rest of the day I guess I'll just have to stay inside and enjoy this drizzly, happy Friday. Later tonight my honey is making dinner for me and he just told me he's cooking salmon...surprising as it is I have never had salmon before so this will be a treat for sure!

Stay classy rainy San Diego!!

Bun Day, Fun Day

I'm not usually an "up-do" sort of person when it comes to my hair unless I'm working out, but today I felt like having a little fun and trying something different. I'm definitely not make up or hair styling savvy whatsoever. That's my sister's area of expertise. In fact, Maura (my sister) has done my make up and hair all growing up for dances, weddings, birthdays...really anytime I've needed to look dolled up. And she's awesome! I wish she would start a youtube or something because I know people would watch it. But anyway, back to my hairstyle of the day...

I tried what's called a "messy bun" look. It's where you throw your hair up into a bun on top of your head and it looks super natural like it took no time at all! Well I've tried to do a messy bun several times and it's never come out looking cute before. In the past I would use 2 or 3 hair ties, but this time I decided to use a bunch of bobby pins...and it worked really well! I didn't think it looked like anything special, but surprisingly I got tons of compliments throughout the day. So in case anyone happens to come across my blog and wants to do a messy bun style that looks effortless, takes only a couple minutes and lasts all day then here you go:

Step 1: Put your hair in a pony tail on top of your head
Step 2: Grab a small section of hair and wrap it around the hair tie to hide the  appearance and hold it in place with a bobby pin
Step 3: Piece apart the rest of hair into sections and attach it to the top of your head around the base of the pony tail with bobby pins
Step 4: Enjoy your "messy" bun hairstyle!

And at the end of the day when I took my hair down I got another beautiful hair-do!
Or not...haha. Womp womp.

Welp, that's my Wednesday! Over and out (;

Here Goes Nothing

Well,

Here I am world! I decided to create this blog because honestly, what else am I doing right now? I'm not quite sure if this will be a permanent thing or if I'll get bored and move on to something else in a week, but for right now I'd like to have somewhere random to write things down or post day to day events on. I could never keep up with writing in a journal or diary, but since I find myself on the computer so much I figured I would give this a go.

Anyway, I've noticed that I love to follow other people's blogs...I enjoy seeing all of their crafty DIY projects, fashion concepts and of course the recipes people come up with! I don't know if this will become a blog like that, but we'll see. In the meantime, I'll give a little history about where I'm at in life:

I'm 22. Graduated from college 2 months ago. Jobless...sort of. Seeking a career passion, but no luck as of now. Love all things disney, animals and pastries. Chai tea is a stable of mine. I have a kid...he has reddish brown fur, yellow eyes, four legs and resembles a wookie. So his name is Chewie, naturally.

Until next time...
